A Tale of Two Women
Three months ago, Charlie Kirk was martyred for his beliefs.
In the wake of this tragedy, two prominent women present us with opposing responses to the injustice.
Before this tragedy, Candace Owens had built a business based on outrage reaching a net worth of approximately $5 million. Her podcast has quickly become the second most viewed, averaging almost four million views per episode. She pictures herself as the only one willing to rage against the machine. In the last few months, Candace has thrown the conservative party into a tizzy with her ever-growing list of discoveries and suspects.

Since Charlie’s murder, Candace has questioned everyone and everything, bringing to the public her own court of opinion based on her feelings and intuition. Candace, in her own way, wants justice and truth.
Unfortunately, Candace’s methodology and claims cannot be considered righteous judgement because they violate principles laid out in God’s law.
A few key elements of biblical justice are as follows…
Every charge must be substantiated by two or three witnesses (Deuteronomy 19:15)
These witnesses must be cross-examined (Proverbs 18:17)
All are innocent until proven guilty (Deuteronomy 17:4)
False witnesses should be given the punishment they advocated to deal out (Deuteronomy 19:16-19)
God will judge finally at the Final Judgement (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

Candace’s business model has always been to rage against the machine–and it works, because rage will continue to fuel the machine.
We are a culture hijacked by the rage machine. Both sides use it against common Americans to profit off of their lack of discernment and self control. What makes this moment even more pivotal is that in this rage-machine encultured world, an injustice has truly happened.
A young man in his prime, a husband, a father of young children, was murdered in front of thousands live and millions online.
Anger is the natural result when injustice has occurred. Anger itself, like many emotions, is not automatically right or wrong, but what we do with it does carry moral implications. Unbridled anger at injustice only leads to more sin, slander, gossip, and deceit.
Erika Kirk, on the other hand, has demonstrated the beauty of submitting injustice and anger to God’s law.

Let us not forget, Erika was Charlie’s wife. They were bound in a sacred covenant before God, mysteriously united as Christ is united to the Church. Though many may claim to be Charlie’s friend, Erika was his own flesh.
In her recent appearances on a press tour for Charlie’s book, “Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life,” Erika has addressed her opinion on the ongoing investigations, “Any time we hear a lead or anytime we hear anything, we send it to the authorities… I want justice for my husband, for myself, for my family more than anyone else out there."

Though some have criticized Erika’s trust in the judicial system to carry out a truthful verdict, it is a far more biblically justifiable approach than that taken by the Candace Cult.
Jesus warns in Matthew 12:36-37, “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
And yes, this includes the kinds of questions we ask.
Since the Fall, following God’s law has never been in vogue. The apple that promises knowledge of hidden things, knowledge that only God has, has always been more pleasant to the eye.
Perhaps that is why Erika is called cold for her calm demeanor, heartless for her trust in God, suspicious for defending her husband’s organization. All accusations based on unsubstantiated intuition and feelings.
In her own words, “My silence does not mean that I am complacent. My silence does not mean that somehow Turning Point USA and all of the hand-picked staff that loved my husband and my husband loved them is somehow in on it. We are busy building.”

Meanwhile, Candace has mastered the art of spin to justify breaking down the lifework of her friend. If you don’t believe me, ask yourself, “What piece of evidence would make me stop trusting Candace’s story?” If you have no answer, you can trust your reason has been compromised.
The demolition project does not promise an end date, since Candace proved this week how far she is willing to backtrack in order to keep her theories alive. After months of saying only her husband George Farmer and Erika Kirk had the power to get her to stop the investigation, Candace pretended she didn’t understand when told explicitly by Erika, “Stop.”

Psalm 4:4 counseling the righteous first response to anger, “Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.
Questions should be asked, evidence evaluated, anger turned to action. But all this must be done in a way that honors the Judge of all things, or you might find yourself on the wrong side of the courtroom.
Don’t be easily manipulated, by any side. Submit your feelings to God, through prayer and reading his word. If you engage, engage according to God’s just principles of investigation.
The chaff is tossed every which way by the wind, but the wheat falls to the ground.
